Sister Nivedita University (SNU) at New Town, Kolkata was established through the enactment of The Sister Nivedita University Act, 2017 (West Bengal XLIX of 2017). SNU, being unique of its kind is built on the path of Sister Nivedita, blessed under the shadow of Swami Vivekananda. The university offers educational programs and research in a wide array of subjects, under disciplines like Engineering and Technology, Science, Medicine, Management, Law, Humanities, Language and Literature, Pharmacy, Architecture, Social Sciences, Performing Arts, Sports, Media, Design, etc. Moreover, some unique courses will be introduced with an emphasis on skill development, entrepreneurship, and women empowerment.

Programs

Dated May 17, 2022, Some glimpses of the National Technology Day organized by the Department of CSE and the Department of Applied Nutrition and Dietetics at Sister Nivedita University. The occasion was graced by Dr. Frank B. Brokken and Dr. Esther Sulkers from University of Groningen, Netherlands. Sir, Dr. Frank B. Brokken gave the students of the Department of CSE an overview of the art of programming using C++. While madam Dr. Esthar Sulkers educated the students of the Nutrition department about the importance of the first 1000 days period. It was an enriching interactive session with the students.

Sister Nivedita University Scholarship

Sister Nivedita University being unique of its own kind is built on the path of Sister Nivedita, blessed under the shadow of Swami Vivekananda has been and will pursue excellence as its core theme of imparting education. To encourage excellence in the academic performance of students, the University will award scholarships and Financial Aid for students. Additionally, socio-economic conditions sometimes put hurdles on the meritorious students who belong to the financially weaker section of the Society. Thus, the policy of the University will be to encourage merit and also to facilitate meritorious students who are facing poor socio-economic conditions and limited financial means.
